Sign Line is a company that provides interpreter services in Sign Language. We have over 20 years of experience in community interpreting. Our goal is to give our customers the service that they need in high quality professional Sign Language interpreting.
Sign Line was originally established to fulfil the needs of the deaf customers in 1984. In the beginning the name of the company was Pääkaupunkiseudun Tulkkikeskus and it was part of the Helsinki Deaf Club. Since 2005 company’s name has been Sign Line, and it is a part of the company side of the Finnish Association of the Deaf.
We provide services to persons, companies and entities; to whomever requires the service of sign language interpreting. Our clients include deaf, hard-of-hearing, deafened, deaf-blind and hearing persons; as well as hospitals, municipalities, offices, schools and associations. Our main service area is the Helsinki-Uusimaa district in southern Finland, but we also provide interpreting in other parts of Finland, and even abroad should the need arise.
The sign language interpreters that work in Sign Line are multiskilled professionals working in numerous situations that require special knowledge. These might include interpreting in the fields of technology, media and culture, as well as religious settings. The knowledge of different working languages and interpreting methods is maintained and developed all the time through different training programs and courses that our employees have the possibility to attend.
